I have had the privilege of managing some of the world’s most recognizable brands and working for distinguished, multi-billion dollars businesses including Fortune 100 companies to start-ups.
PERRY CONSULTING: From 2013 to 2014 I have consulted for small start-ups to mid-size businesses specializing in marketing, branding, go to market strategies, engagement & retention and product launches. Some of my clients include: Sylvia Nash Inc. (developing social media strategies from LinkedIn presence to website development), Doherty Enterprise (developing brand audit, vision and architecture for two new restaurant concepts), Decision Point (segmented plus size women’s apparel market, summarizing and analyzing research results into a comprehensive video).
In 2013, I worked for Jakks Pacific (top toy manufacturer) on a joint venture with NantWorks (healthcare and technology company founded by entrepreneur Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong) on a groundbreaking image recognition platform that recognizes images, 3D objects, voice, speech data, live video including augmented reality. I was responsible for business development, user acquisitions and partnership development for Fortune 500 companies working with C-level/senior executives to leverage the technology to secure partnership deals. During my tenure, I partnered with Bank of America, AT&T, MLB, QVC, City National Bank and others providing integrated marketing strategies and new digital opportunities that provided scalable solutions to meet their business objectives.
From 2007 to 2012 I drove $500M in global sales for the entertainment division, consisting of partnerships with entertainment companies like Nickelodeon, Disney-Pixar, DreamWorks Animation, Fox, Sony and more to develop, market and launch innovative gaming products across multiple platforms. I started out as an Associate Director and was promoted to Director of Global Brand Management. During my time at THQ, I quantified the risk/rewards for 50+ new product opportunities by making data-backed recommendations to the executive team. I led the product development process from concept to shelf managing a multi-functional team, delivering innovative products on time, on strategy and on cost. The successful results included the launch of numerous kids video games (Wall-e, Cars, Up, SpongeBob), in a difficult retail environment. The direct-to-consumer marketing campaign resulted in achieving 2-4M+ units sold per game despite distribution rejections from ‘big box’ retailers, and securing top 10 selling animated game the year of introduction.
From 2005 to 2007, I was the Senior Manager of Global Brand Management for Activison. I led the strategic planning and tactical execution of worldwide marketing efforts and franchise develoment for Spider-Man, a multi-million dollar franchise. I created and communicated the global franchise vision to internal and external parties that influenced success effectively driving revenue growth while optimizing ROI.
From 2001 to 2005, I worked for The Coca-Cola Company. I started as a Brand Manager and was promoted within the first 6 months to Senior Brand Manager. I led the development of strategies and brand building plans in the West for some of the world’s best selling drinks; Coca-Cola Classic, Diet Coke, Dasani, Evian, Dannon, PowerAde and KMX. I successfully drove $400M in operating income, exceeding share goals for the Coca-Cola line in the West.
From 1997 to 2001 I served in a variety of Brand Manager positions from driving new businesses within the special projects group, creating long term strategic growth platforms on the new products team to driving established brands for marketplace success. While on the special projects team, I secured two new channels of business with the Orville Redenbacher line (within Movie Theatre’s and airport retail locations) increasing profit for ConAgra Foods. On the new products team, I launched a new category in the grocery channel with Homestyle Bakes from Banquet which became the best-selling new grocery product introduction of 2001-02 for the industry (per IRI), achieving $125M in year 1 sales and recognized as the most valuable team of the year. While managing Orville Redenbacher, a 30 year brand, I implemented a significant brand revitalization initiative transforming 49 straight months of disconcerting decline into 12 consecutive months of uninterruped growth.
From 1993 to 1997 I was the Marketing Manager responsible for managing and growing the Chicago Brothers brand (a frozen food line of lasagnas and entrees) including the strategic long-range planning. I successfully improved overall gross margins by 3% through cost reduction measures resulting in increased profitability and enhanced market share.
From 1992 to 1993 I worked for Jack-In-The Box as a Marketing Coordinator. I was responsible for developing and implementing image programs designed to re-energize the corporate and franchise owned locations as well as drive overall consumer awareness.
From 1991 to 1992 I was the Marketing Assistant at The Disney Channel responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of consumer promotion programs, coordinating meet n’ greet events and tracking advertising programs for their children’s television programs.
